  • The AHA’s Circle of Life Award – One of the highest honors in healthcare, Hospice of Lancaster County was proud to receive this national recognition of its open and creative access to admissions.

  • The Central Pennsylvania Nonprofit Innovation Award – Awarded to Hospice for the successful implementation of electronic medical records on laptop computers, utilized by all clinical staff in the field.

    Employee Learning

    Workforce Development

    As part of our continuing effort to provide our patients and families with the best care possible, Hospice of Lancaster County invests heavily in the development and training of our employees. Our internal education department employs 8 full-time professionals, providing courses in a wide variety of end-of-life care topics, as well as practical subjects such as documentation, communication and computer skills.

    Education Assistance

    Full-time and part-time employees are eligible for educational assistance one year after they begin work with Hospice of Lancaster County. Education can lead to an undergraduate or graduate degree from a regionally-accredited college or university or a professional designation from a national institute. Each year, many employees benefit from the organization’s payment of their tuition and book expenses.
